Memories of Cape Cod came about while conducting a formal exercise in photographing colour in isolation from other compositional elements. It is a visual depiction of the attempt to recover a memory of place and is intended to echo the photographer’s process of selecting from a contact sheet though here the image is fugitive. The original photography was conducted in Cape Cod in 1983. These colour transparencies have been re-photographed and a composite digital image produced which incorporates a scan of urgent pencil highlighting.
