Original Model 95 box from 1949 (left) and revised box from 1950s. The original Model 95 box was more complex with the burgundy red area being a pull-off cap. It was covered in embossed paper and silk-screened — the 'Polaroid', 'Camera' and slogan being in yellow.
The revised box was of the 'shoe box' design with a removable lid covered in gloss paper retaining the style of the original box. Accessories packaging was simplified at the same time - click here for the evolution of the PR-22 packaging story.
